There were over 6,000 enrolements recorded nationally last year.
Enrolments in retrofitting and Zero Energy Building training courses have gone up in the Midlands for the fourth year running.
Zero Energy Building focuses on ensuring that the total amount of energy consumed on a premises is equal to the amount of renewable energy generated on the site.
Nationally, 6,423 enrolments were recorded in 2024 up from 4,452 in 2023 - an increase of almost 50%.
A record 11% of those who participated in courses last year were women.
Laois and Offaly ETB are one of six centres of excellence that provide these upskilling courses.
