Eight people have died on the country's roads so far this year.
The increase in road deaths and fall in Garda numbers policing the roads are directly related, according to the leader of Aontú.
Figures released to the party show a decline in the number of Fixed Charge Notices for speeding being issued to people across the country.
National figures have fallen from over 226,000 in 2014 to 165,701 in 2022, a drop of 27%.
From January to September 2023 in the midlands, only 4,691 notices were issued in Laois and Offaly, and 4,913 in Westmeath.
