Husky Rescue Ireland have been handed a six month sanction.
A Laois animal rescue charity has been removed from the register of charities over issues around their governance and accounting protocols.
Husky Rescue Ireland is based in Cullohill and rescues and rehomes husky and Akita breed dogs across Ireland and from abroad.
The six month sanction means it won't be able to accept donations or gifts of any kind.
These include food and equipment and third party payments until the sanction is lifted.
In a statement on their Facebook page, they say while they accept the sanctions, they will be fighting to have the sanction lifted earlier in the interest of animal welfare.
