Gardaí are appealing for help, after an aggravated burglary at Crettyard Post Office on Monday night.
Two men with, what appeared to be, a sledgehammer left the scene after the alarm activated, at about 11.20pm.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact Portlaoise Gardaí on 057 867 4100.
