760 children are waiting for CAMHS services in CHO8.
Over 120 children have been waiting over a year to be seen for their mental health in the community healthcare organisation covering the midlands.
Figures for CHO8, which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath, show over 760 children are currently waiting for CAMHS services, the second highest of all organisations nationwide.
The national total of those on waiting lists reaches in excess of 3,800.
Laois Offaly Independent TD, Carol Nolan says this is potentially causing developmental delay in children and upset and frustration among parents:
