A man has been arrested after a number of burglaries and break-ins in Laois.
A number of vehicle break-ins happened in Ballybrittas on Sunday morning shortly before 3 am, with a golf club stolen from one of the ransacked vehicles.
A house in Rathdowney was then broken into at 4 am, with the owner of the house coming down to see a man dressed in black and a balaclava steal his car keys.
The suspect then fled the scene with the keys without stealing the car,
A 19 year old man has been arrested, detained and charged in relation to these matters and other offences in neighbouring areas and is currently before the courts.
Gardai are reminding people to lock their doors at all times, and avoid leaving valuables on display as the affected vehicles in question were unsecured.
