A man in his 60s has lost his life after an incident in Killucan on Friday afternoon.
A man has died after becoming unwell following a two car-collision in Westmeath.
Gardaí attended the scene of the crash which took place on the Royal Canal Way at Cushinstown in Killucan around 2pm on Friday.
One of the drivers involved, a man in his 60s, became unwell and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
No one else involved required treatment.
The scene has been examined and the local Coroner has been notified.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Results of the post-mortem will assist Gardaí in determining the course of the investigation.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
