Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred last night.
A man has died in a crash in Westmeath.
A vehicle struck another parked car and a wall at Griffinstown near Kinnegad at around 9.30pm last night.
The two occupants of the car were treated at the scene by emergency services personnel.
A passenger in the car, a man aged 20 years, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver, a man also aged 20 years, was removed from the scene by Ambulance to the Regional Hospital Mullingar.
His injures are not life threatening.
The parked car was unoccupied at the time.
The road remains closed today while a Gardaí carry out a forensic examination.
The local Coroner has been notified.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have camera or dashcam footage to come forward.
