A midlands county ranks among the most expensive for car insurance in the country.
Motorists in Offaly are hit with an average rate of €653, the fifth highest in Ireland, according to research by Chill Insurance.
That's followed by a €637 fee in Laois, and €602 in Westmeath.
Dacia is the cheapest car brand to insure, with an average price of €515.
Chill's Car Insurance Price Index says motorists in rural counties are more likely to face a higher premium price, due to a higher number of claims.
