The Down Syndrome hub will be located in Laois
The delivery of a midlands resource centre for those with Down Syndrome is set to take substantial step forward in the coming days.
Plans are to be put forward for the 'Field of Dreams' facility in Laois that will act as a training hub as well as a social and recreational meeting point.
Objectives for the Abbeyleix site include creating an independent living space that can provide people empowerment to pursue employment.
Michael Gorman, PRO for the Laois branch of Down Syndrome Ireland, says there's extensive long term plans, and the work coincides with a change in outlook by employers:
