There were 16 more people accessing emergency accommodation last month, compared to the month previous.
The number of homeless people in the midlands has hit a record high.
137 adults accessed emergency accommodation in March, 16 more than the month previous.
62 of those were in Westmeath, 52 were Offaly, and 23 in Laois, which was the only county in the region to remain unchanged.
71 children were also without permanent accommodation last month, according to figures from the Department of Housing.
Nationally, 11,988 people were homeless, which is also the highest number on record.
Focus Ireland says hundreds more people will be in emergency accommodation in the next few months.
