The cost of a house is up in all Laois, Offaly, and Westmeath when compared to last year.
A new report indicates house prices in the midlands are increasing.
The latest MyHome Property Price Report shows the cost of a property in Westmeath has risen by €1,000 in Q1of 2025.
The median asking price for a property in the county is now €260,000.
Property prices in Offaly have also risen by €1,000 during the first quarter, with median price being €240,000 - meaning prices have risen by €15,000 compared with this time last year.
Whereas in Laois prices have stayed flat during this quarter, with the median price in the county still €215,000, up €5,000 from last year.
Chief Economist with Bank of Ireland, and author of the report, Conall MacCoille, says the global economic situation can make things worse:
