Midlands MEP Maria Walsh is the lead negotiator for the European People's Party on the Horizontal Anti-Discrimination Directive.
She believes the decision is a major step toward 'fairness and equity for all' across the EU.
The proposed law aims to ensure equal access to public spaces and services for vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities.
