Midlands Parents Holding Protest Over Lack Of Autism Places

They say support systems are needed for teachers as well as families.

Schooling for autistic children needs to be implemented appropriately, with support systems in place for teachers as well as families.

That's according to Autism Parents Athlone, who are holding a protest next week to raise awareness on the lack of school places available.

They say it could be due to a reluctance for schools to undertake the commitment without resources.

Parent Hilda Duignan has been speaking with Will Faulkner on Midlands Today and says they don't want a "babysitting service, they want an education for their children".
