Midlands rents are on the rise compared to this time last year.
The rise is in line with the national picture which shows rents rising in every county of the country, according to the latest Daft.ie report.
Rental prices in the Midlands have risen just over 13% in the last year.
The average listed rent is now €1,222.
On a county by county basis Offaly has seen the steepest year on year rise at 13.9% where rents now average at €1,194.
Westmeath rents have gone up just over 13% as well, and the average cost to rent a home in the county is now €1,269.
While Laois has seen a 10% rise, and now stands at €1,204
Renters looking for a three bedroom house in the midlands can expect to pay just over €1,100.
The national picture offers little compensastion for people on the market.
At €1,618 per month, the national average has gone up by 12.6%, the highest jump since the Daft reports started in 2005.
Scarcity is one of the biggest issues relating to prices at the moment.
On August 1st there were just 716 listed to rent nationwide.
