Reasons for the withdrawal are still unknown.
Plans for a major wind farm in the Midlands have been withdrawn just days after being lodged.
The Irish Independent is reporting RWE Renewables Ireland Ltd has withdrawn an application from An Coimisiún Pleanála for permission to develop an 11 turbine project near Shinrone.
The proposal was put to the State's planning body instead of either Offaly or Tipperary County Councils because it was considered a strategic infrastructure development.
If realised, the Ballincor Wind Farm would have generated 222,000 megawatt hours of electricity with a community benefit fund worth €470,000 being delivered.
It remains unclear why the application was withdraw.
