Offaly Director Disagrees With Removing Films That Were Once Acceptable

HBO Max has removed Gone With The Wind from it's streaming service.

An Irish film director believes Gone With The Wind should still be available to stream to show new audiences how far society has evolved since it was first screened.

HBO Max has temporarily pulled the 1939 film from its platform due to the "ethnic and racial prejudices" featured.

The company says the racist depictions "were wrong then and are wrong today".

Paddy Slattery, a film director from Co. Offaly agrees, but believes movie studios shouldn't be able to hide content which was once deemed acceptable:
