Construction will begin early next year.
Construction on the second phase of a social housing development in Westmeath will get underway early next year.
Plans for 24 units in the Arcadia area of Athlone include 3 old person dwellings and once building commences, will take 14 months to take shape.
The development is part of a strategy by the local authority to construct 180 social houses throughout Athlone - the first 21 of which, were completed earlier this month.
