So far, three Garda investigations have taken place in relation to this case.
The family of murdered prison officer Brian Stack are to meet with the Justice Minister today.
They'll meet with Jim O'Callaghan in relation to the ongoing investigation at 5 pm.
Brian Stack was the chief prison officer working on the IRA wing of Portlaoise Prison in 1983 when he was shot and subsequently died one year later.
Three Garda investigations have taken place in relation to the murder, with 198 inadequacies found in the original investigation in a report to the Garda Commissioner in 2009.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris apologised in July 2019 following a meeting with the family.
They're also calling for a full State apology and for access to the report that was carried out by the Serious Crime Review Team.
Brian's son Austin, author of "Justice For My Father" says that he hopes the Minister will do the right thing:
