Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín adds the Government owns the motorway, and is no longer contractually obliged to put up the cost of its toll.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland increased prices across the country yesterday, which also saw the cost of the the M8 to Portlaoise and the N6 between Kinnegad and Galway go up by as much as 50 cent.
Deputy Tóibín says the increase is unfair on commuters and is a Government tactic to force people out of cars:
