Over €40 million been announced in capital investment for higher education institutions for 2026/2027.
Technological University of the Shannon is set to receive over €3 million as part of the allocation to enhance its campuses and facilities.
The funding will support 19 institutions nationwide, enabling small-scale building works, energy efficiency upgrades, refurbishment and equipment renewal.
The investment will help institutions deliver safe, sustainable and future-ready learning environments amid ongoing cost pressures.
Meanwhile, TUS is also extending its CAO points waiver scheme to all its campuses.
It's already piloted the initiative in Athlone, where students who displayed a strong dedication to sport alongside their studies may have been eligible for a 50 point reduction on selected courses.
From September, it'll also apply to courses in Moylish, Coonagh, Thurles, Clonmel, Ennis and Clare Street campuses.
A total of 25 places are available on all undergraduate programmes.
