David Digan from Moate lost his left arm following a motorcycle incident six years ago.
A Westmeath man, who lost his left arm in a motorcycle accident, says being selected for a world first medical trial in Vienna may allow him to regain movement in his fist for the first time since his injury.
Moate's David Digan says the trial will involve doctors securing a prosthetic to his forearm through a bone anchor, which will be connected to the remaining nerves in his forearm and shoulder.
He's raised over six thousand euro on his GoFundMe Page to cover the expenses of travelling back and forth to Austria.
