There are calls for an affordable service, especially with Ukrainians stranded in rural areas.
An affordable bus link is needed for villages in Laois.
That's according to Councillor Barry Walsh, who's been approached by a number of families hosting Ukrainian refugees complaining about the current service.
He says the bus link from Ballyroan to Portlaoise runs at unsuitable times and is costing commuters €24 a day to travel.
The Fine Gael rep says it's been difficult for displaced Ukrainians to get around the county:
