Plans for a new windfarm in the midlands have been refused.
An Bord Pleanála has turned down a planning application for the provision of up to 15 wind turbines on land in Coole, near Castlepollard in Westmeath.
The inspectors decision came as a result of seven considerations, which primarily raise concerns with peat harvesting in the area.
The North Westmeath Turbine Action Group made a submission against the proposal - Jack O'Sullivan is involved with the group, and outlines their concerns with the development:
