Nationwide there was also an increase, amounting to over 8%.
The median price of a home in the midlands has seen a slight increase, now setting people back over €256,000.
The latest figures from the CSO show Westmeath once again as the most expensive county in the region, at over €268,000.
The cost of a home in Laois and Offaly has remained stable at €260,000 and €240,000 respectively.
Nationally, the price of a house increased by 8.6% percent in the 12 months to June, a rise from 8.5% percent in May.
